Introducing Reacton's Automatic Fire Suppression System, protecting Airport Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and ultimately the airline industry's investment in aircraft. As an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), our systems are the benchmark for fire protection in the sector.
Safety, speed and accuracy are what all GSE companies strive for. Although equipment manufacturers will meet rigorous design and material standards to ensure their equipment is both robust and reliable enough for safe operation, handheld fire protection is often only included as standard. With engine bays in GSE providing the heat, high airflows and flammable fluids for fires to start, hidden or small fires can quickly get out of control.
In recent years there have been some well documented fires on GSE that have devastated planes and closed airports. Fire prevention procedures that rely on human intervention, in many cases, simply isn’t enough, with fire taking hold before an operator has the opportunity to notice or had time to take action. An automatic fire suppression system detects fire within seconds, delivering an extinguishing agent to the heart of the fire to knock down flames, taking away the need for an operator to act.
On road vehicle automatic fire suppression systems cover the Bus & Coach sector or passenger vehicle services (PSV). Millions of people rely on this method of transport and is a part of everyday life. This means a large amount of the population is exposed to potential fire risks on a regular basis.

These vehicles contain all the necessary ingredients for fires to not only start but propagate quickly. It is not just the fire itself that poses a threat, the by-products of combustion can quickly take over a bus and impede the safe exit of passengers.
Protecting life and allowing passengers and operators safe egress is a critical part of any risk assessment for these applications. It is important to know that Installing a Reacton® Automatic Fire Suppression System for buses and coaches will provide a certified solution that has undergone rigorous testing by a globally recognised research institute.
Detailed investigations from the leading transport authorities & fire protection agencies promote the installation of Automatic Fire Suppression Systems on Buses & Coaches to try to reduce the risk to human life.
Such requirements can be seen with accreditations such as the P-Mark SPCR 183 and the mandatory UNECE Regulation 107. Reacton® can fully support these with the wide range of approved systems all scoring the highest pass marks possible.
With over 800 fires a year being recorded in the U.K alone the integration of an effective vehicle fire suppression system is essential in providing a safe framework to modern transport vehicles.
The Reacton® vehicle automatic fire suppression systems will detect and deliver the extinguishing agent at the earliest opportunity and minimise the spread of the fire and risk to passengers.
When protecting your on road applications from fire, your suppression products should meet or exceed the same vehicle testing standards that they were subject to. That is exactly what Reacton® have done.
Our On Road vehicle fire suppression system features include:
Once an aircraft has landed, ground support equipment (GSE) takes care of everything it needs while it’s on the ground. Airlines, airports, ground handlers and cargo companies around the world rely on the safe operation of GSE to keep aircraft safe and on time, wherever they are.
GSE includes everything from gangways and service stairs to baggage belt loaders, refuelling tankers, tugs and ground power units. This equipment provides the invaluable service of passenger handling, cargo loading, aircraft mobility, repair, service and maintenance. Without the vital support of GSE, airports and planes just wouldn't operate.
With their close proximity to multi-million pound airlines, when a fire breaks out on a piece of GSE the consequences can be devastating. Not just to the aircraft, but to the whole airport operation, with a fire on the apron resulting in flight delays, diversions and, in some cases, airport closure. However, GSE downtime and repair costs alone offer plenty of reason to consider added protection against fire events.
High Performance Fire Suppression Systems
Vehicles found in this environment have a demanding schedule and must perform around the clock. This is no different from the Automatic fire suppression that will also be subject to these conditions. Reacton® ensure that our equipment offers its high performance when called upon.

CE & DOT.
As a global business we ensure our products are compliant where ever they may be fitted. Cylinders are available in both CE & DOT specification.
Firstly, what is Dual Agent when it comes to fire suppression?
Sometimes referred to as Twin Agent, this suppression concept is essentially a combination of two types of extinguishing mediums discharged either simultaneously or serially from two different discharge or piping networks; but controlled by the same fire detection and release system.
Reacton® automatic fire suppression systems designed for Off Road vehicles will commonly feature the Dual Agent configuration. This is made up of both a Dry Powder and Wet Chemical system.
This Dual Agent configuration offers significant advantages to just one type of extinguishing medium, especially when compared to just Wet Chemical systems, where it can offer a 40% reduction in our automatic fire suppression system size.
Dual Agent systems are an outstanding fire suppression method due to combining the individual features of Dry Powder & Wet Chemical into one extremely effective solution. So, not only can the system provide the rapid flame knockdown of Dry Powder with the cooling & blanketing properties of Wet Chemical, the system is economical and significantly smaller than that of a Wet Chemical only system.
