How a Passion to Protect Is Driving Reacton’s Next Phase of Growth

unnamed (1)In the fire protection industry, innovation is driven by a clear purpose. Prevent damage before it happens. At Reacton Fire Suppression, that purpose has shaped the company from the very beginning. Over time, a passion to protect has become a defining part of Reacton’s culture. It influences how the team designs systems, supports customers and approaches new challenges.

Over the past decade, Reacton has expanded its global footprint. Its mechanically operated fire suppression systems now protect a wide range of equipment and environments. This includes buses, heavy machinery and precision manufacturing technology. Across these industries, Reacton solutions help businesses reduce risk and protect critical assets.

We recently spoke with Sam Malins, about the company’s growth journey and the priorities shaping the year ahead. He shares his perspective on innovation, global expansion and how Reacton continues to evolve while staying true to the values that have guided the business from the start.

Building momentum across global markets

Reacton has strengthened its UK headquarters and manufacturing capability while expanding its international footprint across markets including the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.

As the company looks ahead to the next stage of its global growth, Sam explains that Reacton remains guided by the same principle that shaped its journey from the start: designing reliable fire suppression systems that work when it matters most.

The past year has been particularly focused on establishing a clear sales structure and driving growth following several years dedicated to securing certifications and approvals.

“We have divided the sales side of the business into two parts, vehicle systems and clean agent systems, because we want the sales cycle to be as straightforward as the products themselves,” Sam explains.

The vehicle systems division covers both on-road and off-road vehicles as well as heavy machinery. Applications include mining equipment, quarrying machinery, waste and recycling equipment and road fleets such as buses and military vehicles.

Alongside vehicle protection, Reacton’s clean agent systems serve industries where electrical equipment and enclosed environments require fast and residue-free suppression.

These applications include electrical control panels, CNC machines and a broad range of industrial environments where traditional suppression solutions may not be suitable.

A mission built around accessibility and protection

For Sam, Reacton’s founding principle was clear from the outset: fire suppression should protect people and assets without becoming prohibitively expensive or complex.

“We started Reacton about 15 years ago with a clear intention to protect assets in a commercially viable way,” he says.

“Fire suppression should be affordable for everyone. It should not be something where you have to think twice because of the price point, especially when the aim is to protect people and assets around the world.”

Achieving that goal has required years of work to secure approvals while maintaining cost efficiency. Today, Reacton is proud to offer one of the smallest approved dual-agent systems available.

By delivering high performance in a compact system, Reacton can offer competitive pricing while maintaining the quality and reliability required for critical fire protection applications.

Maintaining culture while scaling globally

As Reacton expands internationally, maintaining its internal culture remains a key priority.

According to Sam, the company’s growth strategy begins with hiring the right people.

“It starts with finding people who share our values and are passionate about getting our products out into the world,” he explains.

Inside Reacton, that shared mindset creates a strong sense of collaboration.

“We feel like a family or a friendship group, and that is part of how we work.”

This culture carries through to how the company operates with distributors and partners across global markets.

Reacton works closely with its distribution network, ensuring partners are supported and equipped to deliver the highest standards of system installation and service.

The closer those relationships become, Sam says, the better Reacton can understand the realities of each local market and provide meaningful support.

Strategic expansion across key regions

unnamed (3)Reacton’s global growth strategy is centred on building strong regional partnerships while maintaining manufacturing excellence at its UK base.

The company’s headquarters and production facilities are located in London, while its regional office in Dubai supports customers across the Middle East.

Reacton has also strengthened its presence in India, adding a representative in the region to help support partners and customers.

Further expansion has seen the company deliver projects across Africa, Indonesia and Australia, including protecting the world’s largest open-pit gold mine.

By focusing on markets where Reacton’s systems offer a strong performance advantage, the company has been able to build confidence and expand market share with distributors and end users alike.

Investing in manufacturing capability

Supporting that growth required a significant expansion of Reacton’s manufacturing operations.

After initially operating from a 12,000-square-foot facility, the company has steadily increased production capacity over the years.

Reacton eventually outgrew that space and has now moved into a 36,000 square foot facility in Witham, purpose-designed to support the company’s next phase of development.

The facility includes:

  • A dedicated CNC machining shop
  • A specialised manufacturing line
  • A separate space for finished goods storage
  • Expanded product testing areas
  • Large outdoor area for easy logistics of container deliveries

The new site also provides the flexibility to expand further as demand grows.

Industry trends shaping fire suppression demand

Across the sectors Reacton serves, several key trends are driving demand for advanced fire protection systems.

One of the most significant is the rapid growth of electrification.

“As more vehicles become electric, protecting electrical components becomes even more important,” Sam explains.

Electric vehicles introduce new fire risks, particularly around battery systems. Reacton systems help protect critical components and reduce the risk of fire spreading to battery compartments.

At the same time, global operators are increasingly demanding fire suppression systems as standard across their fleets.

Large corporations often mandate fire suppression systems across their vehicles and machinery, but adoption is also growing among smaller operators as awareness increases.

Certification and compliance also play an important role.

Reacton is currently the only company with a UL direct clean agent system, a distinction that reflects the high level of certification required for protecting electrical control panels.

Engineering driven by real-world feedback

Reacton’s product development process is closely linked to the operational environments where its systems are deployed.

The company maintains strong connections with partners such as Fireward, its UK distributor, and with waste operators that run Reacton-protected machinery.

Feedback from these operators provides valuable insights into how systems perform in demanding environments.

This feedback loop allows Reacton’s engineering team to test improvements quickly and refine product performance based on real-world experience.

“That has become a core part of how we develop and improve our systems,” Sam says.

The next phase of growth

After focusing heavily on certification and product approvals, Reacton is now entering a new phase of expansion, supported by its recent partnership with United Safety, which brings established international infrastructure and distributor networks into the mix.

The company expects to introduce several new approvals in the coming year, including AS 5062 approval for the Australian market, opening opportunities in key regions.

Reacton is also preparing to launch a new heavy-duty pneumatic linear detection system designed for harsh climates. The system is expected to launch in early 2026 and will introduce additional features beyond previous generations.

Several other product developments are already underway, though details remain under wraps for now.

With strong demand, expanded manufacturing capability and a growing network of international partners strengthened through the United Safety partnership, Reacton is well-positioned for continued growth.

For Sam, however, the company's long-term direction remains rooted in the same mission that has defined Reacton since its early days.
